The Roundabout

About

A machine for wisdom that never arrives.

The Roundabout™ generates confident-sounding business insight that collapses the instant you try to act on it. That’s the whole product. There is no upsell.

Corporate language starts out useful. “Let’s align” once meant something. Then a sentence gets repeated in enough meetings that it stops carrying information and starts carrying vibe — the warm reassurance that serious people are doing serious things. It sounds like a decision. It is the sound a room makes instead of deciding.

The trouble isn’t that this language is dishonest. It’s that it’s frictionless — nothing to disagree with, nothing to check, nothing to do.

A roundabout is the perfect shape for it. Everyone is moving. Everyone is signalling. Technically you could leave at any exit — and yet somehow you’re back where you started, slightly dizzy, having generated a great deal of motion and no distance. That is a Tuesday in most organisations, and it’s the physics this site runs on.

So we industrialised it

Every line here is assembled from interchangeable clause banks: gain something on the swings, lose it on the roundabouts, garnish with a comma where the profundity lives. Millions of combinations, all equally load-bearing, none of them true. Turn the energy up to Peak Wisdom™ and it starts trademarking its own nouns and quoting fake engagement stats, which is the point at which the parody becomes indistinguishable from your feed.

If a proverb here makes you nod before you’ve finished reading it — that’s the reflex worth noticing. The tell is always the same: it has the shape of advice without the risk of any. Real advice can be wrong. This can only be reposted.

Is this anti-jargon?

Not exactly. Jargon is fine; every trade has its shorthand, and precision among specialists is a good thing. What this pokes at is the moment shorthand goes load-bearing — when the words are doing the job the thinking was supposed to do. Use The Roundabout™ as a calibration tool. If your all-hands could have been generated here, that is information.

No stakeholders were aligned in the making of this website. Now go round again.
